Moses & Son Expands into Hardware with Moses Mitre 10, Rural & Trade — Opening Late 2025

Moses & Son, a name synonymous with supporting regional communities and rural enterprise, is expanding once again—this time into Hardware & Building Supplies. Set to open in late 2025, Moses Mitre 10, Rural & Trade will offer a full-service DIY, rural supplies, and trade destination in Temora, marking an exciting new chapter for the family business that has been at the heart of Temora since 1920.

The expansion into hardware responds to a growing demand for timber and and other construction materials in the region, as Temora experiences a wave of unprecedented residential and commercial development. With many local builders and DIYers forced to travel to Wagga or further afield for supplies, Moses & Son identified a clear opportunity to meet local needs and keep dollars in the community.

Owner Marty Moses said, “Moses & Son has always been about seeing a need in the community and filling that gap. Our family business started in a timber yard in 1920, so in many ways, this move feels like coming full circle. Supporting our clients and the communities we operate in beyond wool has always been part of our approach, and Moses Mitre 10 is a natural extension of that.”

The new site will include a full Trade Centre withdrive-through lanes, trade accounts, and job-site delivery—tailored to meet the demands of local builders, contractors, and rural businesses. The current Rural Supplies section, including the popular Pets & Produce range, will be revamped with an improved layout for better accessibility and convenience. Additionally, the  retail store environment will offer extensive product ranges, great brands and helpful services not currently available in Temora, enhancing local shopping options.

Opening seven days a week with early morning trading hours, Moses Mitre 10 aims to be there when customers need it most—whether it’s early on-site deliveries for tradies or weekend shoppers tackling DIY projects.

To support the launch, Moses & Son is currently seeking an experienced Trade Manager to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the new business, build strong customer relationships, and ensure the long-term success of Moses Mitre 10. Details and application information are available on the Moses & Son careers

The move follows a 105-year tradition of innovation and diversification at Moses & Son. Over the past two decades, the company has expanded their footprint with wool stores in Wagga Wagga, West Wyalong, Condobolin, & Grenfell. They opened new stores in Narrandera and Young, added rural supplies, introduced Livestock Consultancy Services, & founded Bluechip Livestock Agency, all designed to better support their rural clients. Importantly, the wool business will continue to operate on the same site, utilising the existing warehouse space. Farmers can rest assured they will continue to receive the exceptional, expert local service Moses & Son is known for, with no disruption to core operations.

The launch of Moses Mitre 10, Rural & Trade, marks a new chapter in how Moses & Son supports local communities. It’s a practical step forward that reflects our long-term commitment to the regions we live and work in, with a focus on local investment, trusted relationships, and supporting regional business growth.
